
“Well, there was white. I opened my eyes and all I could see was white. The ceiling in its splendor staring back at me. Before I had a chance to rub my eyes and remove the webs off, a third arm stretched out across my belly. Still half asleep, I raised my head up slightly trying to figure out where it came from then, BAM!, a third hand slammed into my nose. [Holy shh…] How could I have forgotten; I sat up on my bed holding onto my twisted nose and looking to either side I saw my twin cousins battling in their sleep. The boys were hyperactive even when unconscious. It was a funny sight since they looked nothing like one another. Always, I thought about having a twin of my own and looking directly at it by looking at my own skin, at my own imperfections. Rolling my eyes I cautiously opened the cocoon created around my face. I tried it out, and yes, victory: I could still breathe through my nose. I could still smell from it! [Wait, what is that yummy smell?] Still in my bedroom, I paced around aimlessly as I tried to wake up before attempting to go down the stars and rolling down a step at a time. [Wash my face? Brush my teeth? What’s the point if I’m eating breakfast soon? I’ll brush them then.] I thought after maneuvering my exit from my crowded bed that I was going to be readily awake. I had to bend, stretch and elongate my limbs like the most astute spider trying to let the boys sleep longer. A moment of silence would be great. Though I achieved an early sense of awareness, my eyes were still slanted and glued from the corners up until the middle of them. My head still felt fuzzy, most likely because of the feeling of skin sleeping as I was awake. I rubbed it furiously but I was still thinking about nothing…”
